It was such a tragic day. There had been a death in the family. I remember my good friend coming up to with a glass of wine in her hand she handed it to me and said "here sweetie this might help to calm your nerves." I took it and said "thank you very much."
My head was spinning and turning with the event of the day. So I couldn't really enjoy all that the wine had to offer.

But I do remember the first sip It shocked me like a wakeup call. But I liked it because for that brief moment it got me out of my head and the feeling that things just might get better came in.

1998 - Gaja, Angelo Costa Russi Nebbiolo

Can I have just one more glass

This wine was so good we ordered 3 glasses each. That was not like us to do. In fact we often get one glass and split it but this was a very good wine. For those of you who are wondering we got a cab to take us home. :-)

1999 - Gaja, Angelo Costa Russi Nebbiolo

I'm not to into the technical details of this wine. I tried that for awhile and it took the fun out of just drinking a glass of wine. I caught myself always critiquing and not just enjoying.

With that said:

This wine was fun and nice to enjoy.

2000 - Gaja, Angelo Costa Russi Nebbiolo

1998 - Montrose  Bordeaux Blend

This vintage of Montrose Bordeaux has a beautiful deep dark purple color to it sweet smells of earth smoke, licorice and earth.'

This is powerful and full bodied.

1994 - Montrose  Bordeaux Blend

This 1994 Montrose Bordeaux is and excellently intense Blend. It has a great purple color. Fitting aromas of plum and spices, jammy black fruit and a bit earthy. Good on the whole palate. Sweet black currant fruit, nicely balanced with a medium body.

1996 - Montrose  Bordeaux Blend

I paid more attention to aroma then taste. I has aromas of over rip plum, smoke, new saddle leather, Jammy Black currants, New Oak, minerals and spice.

I is sweet, nice texture, very long finish. Full bodied.

1997 - Montrose  Bordeaux Blend

Very well priced at I got it for $70 a bottle. Nice coloring. Aromas of plum, leathers,  cedar. Nice fruity taste.

1999 - Montrose  Bordeaux Blend

This has such a deep color purple that it looks like it has an almost black color to it. Aromas of minerals, smoke and pure black fruits. it is a powerful wine with a full to medium body.
