I purchased two bottles of wine online and received them after a few days. The wine disappointed us. My wine connoisseur friend highly recommeded the wine. We drank the pinot noir and found it bitter. Is it possible the 90 degree temperatures during travel affects the flavor?

Wine is use to minimum criteria. It's use in mostly when people had tired and not to take rest. It's temprature is very high. It's taste is so bad and this is alcohol. We have ignored them.

I definitely think wine can get cooked during shipment.  The bitter burnt taste is a sure sign of the wine getting too hot during shipment.  I always try to order wine during the fall after the temp starts to fall.  It’s important to make sure its cool in the west.  I live im the Midwest so it I like to make sure it gets shipped on a Monday so it does not sit on a truck over the weekend somewhere where it may get very hot.  Trucks can get a lot hotter than the outside temperature.  Hope you at least got a good deal so you didn't have to pay full price.

To add:  many wineries or companies will only ship during certain weather conditions or you may certainly request they do so.  Better yet, get will call and go to pick it up.  It's a good excuse to go drink some more vino.
