this was a very delicious surprise for me. i was very concerned about this wine because it showed some signs of seepage and the label was torn up a bit. i was EXTREMELY careful with the cork, and removed it gingerly from the neck of the bottle using a pronged corkscrew that slides in between the neck of the bottle and the cork. it came right out and was wet up about 2/3rds of the side of the cork.

the aroma out of the bottle was musty, as are all older boredohs in my opinion. it's when they open up that the bordelais magic starts to happen. i figgered there would be some significant sediment in the bottle, so i decanted it while being careful to leave most of the sediment in the bottom of the bottle. i let it sit for about 1/2 hour in the decanter and in a riedel vinum extreme stem. the colour was lighter than a younger boredoh with some browning from oxidation around the edges. as i stuck my nose in the riedel stem the first time, there were faint, yet delicate aromas emanating from the bowl. it was almost floral in its fragrance with a hint of plumminess. i sipped it gingerly and it was thin on the palate but the flavours were very similar to the aromas on the nose; somewhat floral with a packground of plum. i had another glass out of the decanter a bit later and it was much better-more of the plum coming through. needless to say, it didn't last the night.

straight up 4 rennies outta 5-not bad for a 47 year old.

About a week ago my best friend got married and he served this wine.
It was great.
This Bordeaux performed very well. It went so good with the duck and salad we had.

This wine is strong this was very fitting for this wine.
I could smell some Herb, and some sweet fruit.

My friend said he smelt some tobacco. But I think he is wrong. :)

We went camping and my friend brought a bottle of wine. Well that was fine. But what he failed to bring was a cooler. So we had this wine warm.

Not something I recommend. I'm sure this wine is a good wine just not warm. YUCK!!

I don't know what happened. This wine was so bad. We must have gotten a bad bottle or something. This wine was almost like vinegar. It was so tart and not good at all. The aroma where not good either.

This wine was a let down. It looked nice with it's coloring and the aromas where great. But I felt this wine just didn't deliver what I was expecting. I' no critic but I know what I like.

My friends on the other hand disagree.

We enjoyed this wine just the two of us one night at a sunset. It was something out a movie it was so perfect and so was this wine.

This Bordeaux is a excellent Blend. With an exceptional bouquet. a medium body, a wonderful texture and amazing finish.

This wine was just the icing on the cake that we needed to help  complete this wonderful night.

This wine went good with a nice stake. This wine has a nice full body; my wife thought it was more medium body. I got the aromas of smoke, plum, Spice box and my wife got those but she was able to pull out cedar, blueberry and raspberry.

We both agreed that this wine is nicely layered to it.

This wine to me has a bit of story behind it. It was the first one we put in our new wine cellar. It is the first Bordeaux I ever tried and it was the first wine we drank out of our new cellar.

So before I even opened the bottle I had an affinity for this wine. But all personal stuff aside, this wine has a wonderful aroma with spice, blackberry, and charcoal. Also the coloring is so nice it is a dark red and purple color that fills the glass and a excellent finish.

Complex. That's the best way I can think of describing this wine. Complex and full of character. What I mean when I say complex is that it has a lot to it as far as flavor, and aromas. We had lunch the other day and I ordered this wine. When I got it I took Whiff and got a noise full of wonderful smoky, herb, and cherry. When I took a drink I could help but notice the silky smooth texture and the great Finish. It was so good I had to have a second glass.

I had a glass of this Bordeaux wine with some friends. We were at their house. We had it with some cheese and fruit. There is a strength to this wine that was a bit shocking but not over powering.

My friends would disagree. They thought that the strength of this Bordeaux was over powering. I could smell some Herb, tobacco, and some sweet fruit.
