Decanted the Poyferre about four hours. Nose initially was closed but opened up to reveal lily/lilac, leather, splice, and black plum. It started out as an elegant wine with ripe sweet tannins and gained weight over the course of the night and just seemed to get better and better. By hour 7, the wine was fully open and very expressive in both the palate and a good 40 second finish. Very good St. Julien winery.
