Everytime I have had the Palmer served with the Margaux the Palmer has out performed the Margaux. When I have the Palmer by itself it hasn't performed well. Of the last two bottles, one was flawed, and the other was just so-so. The wine was lighter in color than the previous tastings. The wine was also much leaner and tannic in the mouth. While not without charm it did not live up to the expectations nor did it really have the typical flavor profile. I guess this wine has a lot of bottle variance both inb regards to taste and quality.
