A Full bodied wine. The 94 Angelus is a Bordeaux with lots of fragrances of barbeque spices, cassis and hickory wood.
it is well balanced.

Excellent Effort

Sampled 2/25/05. For what many consider an off year in Bordeaux, this wine really comes through as a winner. The color is deep - nearly opaque and has a nose of ripe and cooked fruits and saddle leather. After a couple hours of decanting this full bodied monster wine held its earthy, saddle leather flavors but there was plenty of fruit too. Except for its rounded quality, you would never guess that it is almost exclusively a Merlot and Cab Franc based wine.

Nice Bordeaux

Inky purple in color, nose of smoke and pencil lead. The palate reveals subtle berry fruit, asian spice, and currant with a hint of secondary earthy flavors and finishes with dry smooth tanins. This was decanted for 2 hours in the glass -- the wine was quite closed for 90 minutes before coming to life. I think this has just reached maturity with another decade and a half of life to anticipate.
