Beringer Cabernet Sauvignon Private Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 1992
Outstanding Beauty

I was given this bottle for Christmas and decided to open it some 9 months later, and what a gift it was!  An absolute exquisite experience of a wine.  For one that is now 18 years old, the wine was a thing of beauty...sensuous, smooth, delicious.  Flavors of red fruits from the nose to the palate.  A silky smooth feel that also reminded me of another early 1990's wine I had years ago, that being a 1991 Araujo Eisele Cabernet.  There was almost a cherry nuance to the finish that made this wine so much different from the everyday Cabs we all enjoy.  A truly wonderful wine and an even better gift.

Solid offer from Beringer. Nice layered tannins promise drinking for at least the next ten years. This is one of the softer California cabs but great all the same

As with ALL of the Beringer Private Reserve Cab`s that I have had the fortune to drink, the 1992 rates pretty high my book. Without going in to too much detail about tasing notes, I will say that first glass I drank, right after uncorking, was wonderful. The second glass, about 30 min. later, was outstanding. This wine has a wonderful nose, super mid-palate taste and long finish that rivals California Cab`s that cost 3 times as much. It is very concentrated with a beautiful deep purple color. My guess is that this wine will grow better with another 5 to 10 years of cellaring.

You can`t go wrong with any of the Beringer PR Cab`s and this one stands out, to me, as one of the top 5 to 6 vintages of this wine. Most people know that Beringer PR Cab`s are good, but I think they are underated as a whole and I hope it stays that way because almost all of them are an unbelievable value.
